Infinitive
Infinitive – Verb के First from से पहले to शब्द का प्रयोग करने से Infinitive का निर्माण होता है।तथा इसका हिंदी अर्थ लेने पर क्रिया के अंत में ना, ने, नी देखने को मिलता है ।
Example –
To play is good for health.
Infinitive से संबंधित कुछ प्रमुख नियम –
Rule -1 Ought या used के पश्चात to का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
Example –
1. Ravi ought to help him.
2. You used to go.
Rule – 2 Auxiliary Verbs – Shall, will, should, may, might, must, can, could, would के पश्चात to का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है।
Example –
1. I should do it.
2. He can do.
3. You may go.
Rule – 3 Know के पश्चात how का प्रयोग होने पर ही Infinitive का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Rule – 4 Dare, need के negative या Interrogative में प्रयोग होने पर Infinitive का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है अर्थात Verb से पहले to का प्रयोग नहीं करते हैं।
Example –
1. You need not go there.
Note – Need तथा dare – singular subject के साथ भी plular रूप में प्रयोग होते हैं।
Rule -5 Had better, had rather, rather than, sooner than, would rather, के पश्चात to का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है।
Example –
Incorrect – He had better to go to school.
Correct – He had better go to school.
Incorrect – I would rather die than to beg.
Correct – I would rather die than beg.
Rule – 6 See, make, feel, let, watch ऐसी क्रियाओं के object के बाद to का प्रयोग नहीं किया हैं।
Example –
Incorrect – He made me to laugh.
Correct – He made me laugh.
