Central Idea of the Poem – The Road Not Taken

The central idea of the poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ composed by Robert Frost is that this poem is about the dilemmas in making decisions in life. One morning, in a yellow wood, the poet found himself in a dilemma as he had a road divided in two in front of him. One of the roads was obviously less travelled on because it was grassy. At length he chose the road that was less walked on and it made all the difference. Through this choice, the poet highlights that our choice decides our future. The choices that we make has a huge impact on our future. If we make a wrong choice, we will regret and will not be able to go back to change it. So, we must be wise while making choices in life.
